North of England Urological Society
The North of England Urological Society (NEUS) is the North of England arm of the British Association of Urological Surgeons (BAUS). The aim of the Society is to improve quality of urological care through training, education, research and development. The Society is administered through its own executive committee. The Chairman is locally elected and sits on BAUS council. The Society represents local members and communicates opinion and information to BAUS. The Chairman advises within the region on service development, appointment of new posts and forthcoming revalidation.
Membership comprises all members of BAUS working in the North East. This includes Consultant Urologists, Associate Specialists, Staff Grades, Trust doctors and all trainees on the Higher Surgical Training program. Allied professionals, in particular Urology Nurse Specialists, are also welcome to attend the annual meeting.
NEUS holds an annual meeting in the autumn. These meetings are held at the County Durham Cricket Ground in Chester-le-Street. The meeting is co-ordinated by the Society Secretary and funded by sponsorship from companies allied to the field of Urology.
